FAQ'S

HOW BIG OF A FREEZER DO I NEED?

General rule is 2 cubic ft. per 50 lbs of meats.
1/8th - Can fit in your regular freezer or small 2 cu. ft. freezer
1/4th - Think small dorm room fridge size at 4 cu. ft.
1/2 - 8 cu. ft., stand-up or chest freezer
Whole - 16 cu. ft., stand-up or chest freezer.  We use a stand-up so we can see all of our choices quickly!

DO YOU USE ANTIBIOTICS OR HORMONES?

Never. At Knape Cattle Co., we never use hormones or antibiotics. Our cattle roam around our ranch, never confined. This greatly reducing risks of sickness and are stress free (stress will change meat quality).

WHAT DO YOU FEED YOUR CATTLE?

Grass fed in our own pastures! They never leave our sight so we know where they have been and what they eat at all times. In the winter we will put out hay and occasionally cubes.

WHERE DO YOU PROCESS YOUR CATTLE?

We partnered with a local processor, Doreck's Meat Market, located only a few miles away from our ranch in Alvin! They are a multigenerational family business and have a full retail market if you want to pick up your beef yourself! www.doreckmeatmarket.com

HOW DOES THE BEEF COME PACKAGED?

Our beef is vacuumed sealed and frozen at the processor to ensure flavor is locked in until you're ready to eat! The vacuumed sealed packaging prevents freezer burn giving you ample time to eat it! We recommend eating within 12 months for best results!

CAN WE VISIT THE RANCH?

Absolutely! We maintain an 'Open Ranch' policy! Just let us know when you or your group would like to visit ahead of time as we maintain a full time Large Animal Vet practice as well.

WHAT IS YOUR MISSION?

Now:  Our Mission is to give access to our neighbors to humanely raised beef that is antibiotic/hormone free beef that people can trust.

Future: Be a platform for other 'generational ranchers' across the country to gain access to their local markets and ultimately help them be profitable (... and keep their land). We will handle the marketing and logistics so they don't have to sell to traditional auction barn. Ranchers can focus on what matters most, family and cattle.
